BoardWalk 4 Cancer November 9 at 9 AM

i bet you know someone a who is facing cancer right now and probably many who have fought the fight or who have succumbed to the ravaging affects off cancer.  I have known the C word since I was very young.  i was only 8 years old when my mom was originally diagnosed with colon cancer. Shappeased away at 51 years old,  just before I turned 13.  My father died of stomach cancer 15 years later, just months after I was married.

I have had girlfriends diagnosed with breast cancer at 33 and 38, and family members who have dealt with breast, brain, skin, stomach, colon, bone, leukemia, pancreatic, as well as other types of cancers.

CANCER SUCKS!  There is no other way to put it.

Won't you join me and other Active Rainers in the fight against Cancer?  We'd love to see you.  Please RSVP to Margaret Rome.  Bring your family and friends, pick your charity, every dollar can make a difference!

So many of us know friends and family who have fought  cancer. This is a way to encourage and remember as we continue to fight this disease.

Below are some of the people who joined us last year.

Do you recognize any ActiveRain Members?

Please join us for a  BoardWalk 4 Cancer walk.

Breakfast following at Traders.

Voluntary donations. Make checks payable to the cancer charity of your choice.

Everyone is welcome!

I think a few people are just coming for breakfast and skipping the walk.

Directions:

Just head down Rt. 260 toward the beaches.

At the Veteran's Park overlooking the Bay, turn right on 261.

Go about a minute and then turn right on Gordon Stinnett.

Park anywhere around the Marina. From the parking area you just walk toward the Railway Trail.

Afterwards you can walk from the parking lot to Traders for their Rise 'n' Shine Breakfast Specials.

8132 Bayside Road Chesapeake Beach Md 20732

The Railway Trail is the next right turn on Gordon Stinnett after the Fastop and just before the Water Park.
