This is my first blog. I was never really good at journaling, I would start and then move on to something else. I have at least 20 journals around the house that have a few months of my life in them.
I hope to make this an informative space that makes people think and makes people smile. Thanks for taking the time to read it. I will attempt to keep my entries short and sweet. My brother tells me that even my emails are too long...I'll try.
If you know of anyone who does GREAT work in Maryland, let me know. We are putting together a list of GREAT individuals and companies for our clients and friends. We have clients all over Maryland, so even though we have a roofer in one area, doesn't mean we don't need one in another! We are looking for any service that will be of help to our clients.
Right now we are on the lookout for a GREAT small business and personal accountant. We have a client that is not terribly happy with hers. Let me know if you know anyone.
I put a lot in my profile, but maybe you want to know a little more about me personally....I am married with 3 kids. My oldest are boys, they are 16 and 17, both handsome, smart and funny. My youngest is a girl, she just turned 2. It is amazing to see the changes in her daily. What a sense of humor she has, she makes me laugh all the time. My husband retired from the military and is still looking for his dream job. He is working for the USPS, but I don't think it will be forever. His background is logistics and supply. He is really quite good at it, I don't think selling stamps will be fulfilling for him.
I live in Catonsville, work in Dundalk and worship at St Vincent's Catholic Church in downtown Baltimore. My son's live outside of Morgantown, W.V., so I am also very familiar with Route 70. My husband and I have been together for almost 16 years and married for 11. I met him when the boys were 6 mos. and 20 mos. They live with their (other) mom. I graduated from University of Delaware...Go Blue Hens...with a degree in Human Resources with a concentration in Consumer Economics. In a loooonnngg way around, I am finally working in my field. I never thought that I would be in mortgage business.
Some people that I tell what I do look at me with disdain. I think it is because so many in our business have given it a bad rap, it is unfortunate. Considering that anyone wanting to purchase a home, or anyone that lives in a home will eventually deal with a mortgage broker, a loan officer, or a banker, it is too bad that so many aren't to be trusted. Hopefully they meet the good ones. There are lots of them out there. I also often get the look of sympathy when I tell them what I do. Everyone has heard what a horrible market it is, so they are concerned for me. I just smile and let them know that if you treat people well, they will remember you when they need you, and they WILL need you or will know someone who does! As far as I am concerned, this is a great time in the business. It will drive many of the dishonest brokers out of the business...kinda like the flood in Noah's time...clean out the riff raff and start again. The sad thing is that many companies and brokers that really are good at what they do and are honest will get washed away. I am confident that they will eventually land on their feet, and they too will be able to take care of their clients again.
