Real Estate Closing: Truly A Family Affair

This Real Estate closing was truly a family affairbuyers with agent Carol Fertitta

I met Carol Fertitta of Yerman, Witman, Gaines and Conklin at an open house she was doing in Elmwood.  We hit it off immediately.  She is both a lovely lady and an agent who really treats her clients like family.   In this case, the clients were her family!

Carol was kind enough to refer me to her brother Tony and her nephew Stephen when they were looking for a new home for her nephew and his family.  My brother Tony and I prequalified them and helped them to determine the best way for the loan to be structured.  Soon, they found the perfect home in the exact same neighborhood that Steve's sister and her family live in!

A offer was submitted to sellers with agent Steve Finckelthe listing agent Steve Finckel of RE/MAX Acclaimed (who works with his wife Lynn) and the contract accepted by the wonderful Mr and Mrs. Senger.  My brother Tony and I worked together to get the mortgage papers to the table, and were able to get them better terms than first offered!amps

The Sengers had lived in the home since the early 1950's. They had since moved to a local retirement community which isn't quite home yet, so I think the closing was bittersweet.

One of their son's in serving in the military in Afghanistan.  We thank him for his service and wish him God Speed!

Throughout settlement the seller's shared the home's quirks with the buyer's.  They shared stories of home improvements completed and laughed about some that had gone wrong.  They spoke of memories of running to catch a neighbor kid who climbed out of his crib  unbeknownst to his mom. She had been ironing in the basement while her son was supposed to be napping.  The buyer's complimented the seller's on the work they had done on the home and talked about some of the things they are considering doing.

A smooth settlement was conducted by the sweet and ever professional Sharon Biggs of Real Estate Title and Escrow.Sharon Biggs Real Estate Title and Escrow  Sharon's processor Katie Przybyla did a fantastic job from the first request for a pre-HUD to the funding.

After settlement, Stephen promised to take good care of the home the Senger' loved so much for so long!  I just know that everyone will be happy in their new homes.  All the best to you as you continue on your journey!

I just love it when Real Estate closings are truly a family affair!

Congratulations on a great closing.  It's great when closings are truly pleasant experiences.
