Get your blog noticed-Four Steps to Dominate Google!

Steven Graham AR TrainerSorry, but I "borrowed" this picture from Steven's profile.  None of my pictures of Steven turned out.

One of the questions that bloggers old and new ask is "How can I get my blog noticed by google?"  This question was answered in an another amazing presented by Steven  "#1 blog trainer" Graham during RainCamp Atlantic City "Get your blog noticed-Four Steps to DOMINATE Google!"

1.  Proper Title:  Think search term instead of title.  When you take out the geographical information, the pronouns and the non-essential words (the, a, of, etc.) you get the search term.  The add-ons (geography, specifics like loan type, or number of bedrooms allows the searcher to "drill down" to their complete question.  What is your blog about?  What answer, question, event, information would someone be searching for?

"Hey, read this" -- bad blog title  "Get your blog noticed-Four Steps to DOMINATE Google"  Much better

2Repeat title VERBATIM in the 1st and Last sentence.  I know it looks funny and seems redundant, but guess what? It works, do it!

3More pages, more words, more content,  equals more relevant.  Blog posts to meet the minimum required for your forum will probably not get you noticed. Don't ramble, but make sure that you give relevant information that will give your readers what they are looking for.

4Key phrases/search term should be repeated 2-4% of total words in the blog.  If I am shooting for an average of 3% in a 300 word blog, my search term, "Get your blog noticed-Four steps to dominate google!" should be repeated at least 9 times.

Be sure to avoid "key word stuffing", google knows and it's annoying to your reader.

Just another wonderful presentation you may have missed at this year's RainCamp Atlantic City

Nice tips and I appreciate it! I wrote what I thought was a very good post on playgrounds around the city. When I google it, it comes up on page #2. What's up with that?? I guess I have to work on my key words. :)

I liked this part of the Camp as well. Hey Bridget, did you see the post that Brad Andersohn did on his blog. He has some video of it too if you wanted to check it out.

Bridget--Thanks for sharing what you learned from Rain Camp.  I wish I had been there.  Guess I better go back and revise most of my post titles.  Bye.

Jim, What we learned is that "good" posts don't get noticed by google without the right components!  I think you can send a copy of your blog to be reviewed by Steven.  He will give you tips to enhance it.  Good luck!

Lyn, My pleasure!

Michael, I learned so much from all the presenters!  I did see Brad's video, thanks!

Donna, I am going to start attending ActiveRain University.  The information is priceless!

Mary, I was surprised there weren't more of the folks I have met at other events there.  I had to make all new AR friends!  You were missed.

Anna,  I am now even more excited about AR's potential.  Give me a little info and I can be dangerous!
