Bridget's Blog

Best way to get your blog noticed by google.

Best way to get your blog noticed by google.

Here's just one more thing I learned at RainCamp Atlantic City:  Everything has an order, even blogs. Writing your blog in the right order can be the best way to get your blog noticed by google.

  • Proper Title
  • Create white space to give eyes and brains a chance to pause while reading
  • Tag blog to help with internal organization and show relevance of related terms
  • Repeat proper title
  • Put blog in draft
  • Add pictures, color, hyperlinks
  • Grammar check, spell check
  • Repeat title verbatim
  • Add embedded videos DEAD LAST-google will stop searching the content once it hits video.

Hope this helps you to Get Noticed!

Here's a great explanation why you should blog on ActiveRain to get your blog noticed by google.

I have to confirm that these are strategies that I have implemented over the last two years of my blogging experience.

huh...I did not know posting the Title again was important and have always found it a bit annoying...but will change that now!  Did not know about the video either...great post.

Bridget- Great explanation in the video- one of the takeways I got from Raincamp was the use of white space and the importance of putting a post in draft prior to finishing it.

Great post, Bridget.  I already hit 'suggest' button. I wish I had been there, but reading your post are helping me catch up.  Thanks.

Bridget - excellent information to pass onto members who would otherwise not know. Steven Graham talks a lot about this in his webinars too! I suggest!

Harry, I'd love to know how it's working for you!

Cindy in Indy, Great name, so glad you didn't land in Honolulu wouldn't have had the same ring!  I never understood the title repeat either, glad I know now!

Kenneth, thanks for stopping!

Philip, I am still reeling from all I learned at RainCamp!  I really liked the video too!

Mary, Thanks for the suggest!  I still have more to share!

Kristine, Thanks so much!  I haven't gotten a chance to attend ActiveRain University yet, it's on the list!

Todd, I didn't know either, but it sure makes sense.

Tish, Glad you found it helpful! That means a lot coming from a world class blogger like you!

Michele, I went through a phase where I also lost a ton of work or had ideas that I didn't have time to expand on.  The draft feature is great!

Anna Banana, I considered adding more info, but I think the basics is what most folks like me need!  Little things that are quick and easy to implement.  Thanks for the feature.

Margaret, I enjoyed all I learned, it's really been fun to share! It helps to reinforce what I learned too!

Interesting info.  Good to know about videos.  Why do you have to put it in draft first?
