My Husband Took My 5 Year Old To A Peep Show!

My Husband Took My 5 Year Old To A Peep Show!

Well to be honest, I was there too.  Wait!  Before you call Child Protective Services, it was the

4th Annual PeepShow at the Carroll County Art Council

91 W. Main Street  Westminster, MD 21157

PeepShow Westminster

There are some crazy talented people creating masterpieces out of Peeps! These folks didn't listen when mom told them not to play with their food!

Despicable Peep

The entries were created by local artists, individuals and groups.  There were Peep Bunnies, Peep Chicks, even Peep Christmas Trees....some folks really plan ahead. Some used the entire Peep as is, some mushed the Peep, or allowed the Peep to dry out and shrivel.  Some Peeps were painted, covered in chocolate or even dressed up.  I saw Peeps playing soccer, running track and playing football.  There was even a Todd Peep (Heap!) Jersey or two!  There were Peep flowers and Peep characters including Spongebob Peeppants, and Despicable Peep.  There were recreations of famous artwork and landmarks like the Leaning Tower of Peepza

Did you know?

In 1953 it took 27 hours to make one Marshmellow Peep.  Today it takes 6 minutes.

Did you know?

There are 4.2 million Peeps made each day at the Just Born factory in Bethlehem, PA.

Since admission is free, it's a great way to spend some time with the whole family.  You can buy Peeps themed refreshments, Sydney was a big fan of the chocolate covered Peep.  You can purchase voting chips to vote for your favorites.  My advice? Don't spend all your votes downstairs, since there are 3 more rooms full of Peep creations on the 2nd floor!  All proceeds from the voting and the refreshments benefit the Carroll County Arts Council.

The show continues through today, April 17th and is open from 12 - 5.  Votes will be tallied today and the Peeps Trophies and Peep themed prizes will be awarded.

Here's a thought!

Get to the PeepShow at noon and still have time to come to my fundraiser at Monaghan's Pub from 2-6 PM today!!

Here are some more of my favorites...

That looks like fun.  I wish it was closer to me, my kids would definitely enjoy that.

This is hilarious. I wish I didn't live so far away. Good luck with your fundraiser.

I live about 15 minutes from the peep show.  My parents went and they loved it!!  I am a huge fan of marshmellow peeps so I couldn't go or I might eat the displays :)

Love the creativity of Peep artists at this time of the year.  They may be sticky and overly sweet but they are cute.

I love the Leaning Tower of Peep-za! I didn't even know what a peep was until today! Obviously I don't get out much. Or go down that aisle in the supermarket...

Thanks for the tip.  The Title got me to look.  We are heading there now.  My 2 boys will love it.  Hopefully they don't eat anything!

Mara, The creativity was amazing!

Stacey, they would have loved it!  Sydney took her votes very seriously!

Lorrie, It was pretty neat and a great fundraiser for the Carroll County Arts!  My fundraiser was fabulous, blogging shortly!

Deb, Thanks so much!

Cynthia, I don't think you would have been tempted to eat these peeps.  They did have Peeps for sale, I think you would have been OK!

Cindy,  Incredibly creative!

Peg,  You have to try them at least once!  They used to only make the chicks at Easter, now they even make them in Christmas Trees!

BJ, Hope you had fun!  What did the boys think?

Jim, My sister is a big fan of stale peeps.  Usually I buy her some at the beginning of the season and crack the plastic.  By the time Easter gets here, they are just about right!
