My Baby Isn't Such a Baby Anymore!
When Sydney's first tooth started to wiggle I told her that I was going to sneak into her room while she was sleeping and glue her teeth in so she couldn't grow up. She giggled, telling me that I was a silly mommy and that it wouldn't really stop her from growing. I think there was a little part of her that wondered if I would get out the glue.
Well, last night it happened. She had a snack and not too long after came in and said that she thinks her tooth was missing. She showed me the spot where it was missing but couldn't figure out where the tooth went. She had swallowed it!
Concerned that the Tooth Fairy needed the tooth, she wrote a note:
Dear Tooth Fairy,
I think I may have swallowed my tooth, so may you please leave me a present anyway. I love you.
She also drew a picture of the tooth fairy, of herself lying in her bed with the note under the pillow, and flowers with tooth petals.
The Tooth Fairy liked the note and wrote her one back.
First thing this morning, she found the note from the tooth fairy under her pillow with a five dollar bill. Apparantly, the Tooth Fairy gives a special amount for the first tooth!
I think she is pretty proud of herself! I, on the other hand, get a little teary eyed as I realize that my baby isn't such a baby anymore!
