Knock Knock....Who's There...PROSPECT!
The knock on the door at my home came as I was finishing up with a client. I answered the door and asked the salesmen to hold just a second while I finished up my call.
Once I finished, the gentleman at the door said: "I am sorry that we caught you in the middle of a call."
ME: "No worries, I am a loan officer, pretty much any time you come by these days, you will catch me in the middle of a call!"
HIM: "You are a loan officer? I am trying to buy a home and I am having trouble, can you help?"
ME: "I would be happy to speak with you about it and see what I can do"
HIM: "That would be great, I haven't felt comfortable that the folks I am dealing with really know how to help me."
HIS TRAINEE: "I have a friend dealing with a lender in California and I know he's having trouble with a refinance, do you think you may be able to help him?"
ME: "Without knowing the situation, I don't know, but I would be happy to review his loan. I can at least let him know if he is in good hands or if we may be able to offer a better loan option."
"Here's a card for each of you. You and your friend are welcome to call me anytime. Now, what can I do for you?"
Apparently these days I don't even have to go OUT to find folks who need my help! Have I built a better mousetrap? Nope, I just love what I do and mention it to anyone who will listen!!
This is door-knocking from the inside out!
Knock, Knock....Who's There? PROSPECT!

Bridget, very nice post today and you are correct about prospects and prospecting. Some things have changed. Thanks for sharing.
Love it Bridget!! "Anyone willing to listen" is the key, however. You got a great talent for spotting the people willing and in need.
Now, did you find out why they came knocking on your door in the first place?
