Helping Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort at the December ActiveRain Maryland Meet-Up
My friend Jennifer is originally from Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey. Her family still lives in this area that was hard hit by Hurricane Sandy. Jen's children attend Catonsville Elementary School, so she put out the call for help!
I saw this posted on Facebook.
I knew that I had to help. We cleared out our pantry and our back up school supplies and dropped them off for Jen to add to the donations from other family and friends ready to do whatever they can, no matter how small. So far Jennifer has made two trips with her truck full to overflowing. We were also able to contribute a gas gift card to help offset Jen's expenses and a Walmart Gift Card for the purchase of whatever items are most needed.
I talked to Margaret Rome about the Hurricane Sandy Relief effort when discussing the December ActiveRain Meetup in Maryland at:
Bare Bones Restaurant
Ellicott City, Maryland

We know how generous ActiveRainers are and decided to put out the call for help. We also know that there are lots of you already collecting for many great local charities in November and December. Any donation is appreciated!
Jennifer will make sure your donation gets to folks who are in great need in and around her home town of Cliffwood Beach, NJ.
Here are some pictures of what Jennifer found when she made her 1st two trips up to her hometown last week.
Together, we can make a difference!!
